THE BIG NORWAY ADVENTURE 2026

Day 53: Saturday 20th June, 2026 Nesna to Bolga Island Duration 6hrs 10mins A leisurely get up and departure around 11am, as the high winds of the night before began to ease....so back into the inner lead of Rodoyfjord... ...and through the dramatic Troll-like scenery of the inshore mainland and the outer fringe of islands and skerries... ...and then after a while we excitedly spied the Polar Circle Globe sparkling atop Vikingen Island, which marks the Arctic Circle... ...so

Day 52: Friday 19th June, 2026 Brønnøysund to Nesna. Duration: 8hrs 5mins Heavy downpours overnight thankfully eased for our departure from Brønnøysund...but the skies remained grey... ...which sadly really limited our views out west to the island of Vega and all the surrounding skerries and islets (around 6,500 of them!) - which I had really wanted to see, as I had loved a book called 'A Place of Tides' by James Redbanks. It is a beautiful read which documents the author's

Day 51: Thursday 18th June, 2026 Duration: 7hrs 35mins A dry and still morning, so up and out and ever Northward....leaving Rørvik and re-entering the narrow channel and still waters of the Naeroysund ... ...Following the inner lead between the mainland and Lauvoya, Gjerdinga and the Risvaer archipelego...and all of its beautiful scenery.... ...where the Captain spotted a large fox dragging a fiesty fish into the trees (but I failed to photograph) ...and on into Lekafjord...
